Dirt Nap, 2023

Sauerbier House, Adelaide

This exhibition builds upon the paintings created for my Honours degree in 2022, installed alongside a new video work, entitled ‘Touch Wood’. This animation is a digitally drawn, frame-by-frame animation centred around the futility of attempting to ward off death, particularly superstitions. A cartoon figure is shown trapped in a feedback loop of anxiety and superstition, playfully exploring the relationship between superstition, obsession and anxiety.
